Default Bolt on Headers...

Yo guys, what's happening? I'm new to this community and would like some advices and suggestions from YA... I just bought a DC Chrome Header and was wandering .... how much HP will my car gain ( I HAVE AN ACCORD 2001 v4 LX) ... and will installing this header on my car create any engine complication/performance reduction whatsoever??...

Possibly none. Do you have a catback? No I'm not talking about the cheap *** ones that you could get a jose's muffler shop. Because you can have the best header in the world and have the stock cat that is very restrictive. A header is useless without the cat.

Thanks for your tips guys. I haven't got it yet, but it should be delivery to me in two days time. I'll take your advise about wrapping it and spraying it. As far as a Cat back system... I don't know what's good/bad out there in the market... any ideas/suggestions YALL...

Oh yeah..and one more thing.. My Accord is dropped 4" front, 3.5" rear equipped with H&R Coilsovers on Stock tires/wheels. ...Is there a ground clearance protection that I can get so when I hit a bump, it would messed up my oil pan ...??

Let me know bros... thanks

you car being that low actually hurts the performance of you suspension. You are getting little to no travel in you shocks.

hmm.. so you bought a header before even knowing if it will give you any gain.

also with a car dropped that low your header will get damaged anyways.

btw. DC only comes in 4-2-1 for accords/ludes

you have an I4, no such thing as a V4. had to clear that up. definitely raise up your car. that is too low. they don't make a 4-1 header for the accord, so it would have to be 4-2-1. you won't have any engine complications.

I know some Saab guys who'd disagree with that. Saab used V-4 engines back in the 60's or 70's.

Not true. Pretty sure DC Sports makes a 4-1 header that is available for the Accord. Kamikaze only makes a 4-1 header, and "Accord" is in their application list. If you were to get a Kamikaze header, it would be good to add a 2.5" collector. That should give you a little bit of power.

Only Kamikaze makes a 4-1 header for the accord.

The Apexi World Sport is a nice system. The Greddy Evolution works well on Accords too. I am putting the World Sport and a DC header on my 99 EX in the near future.
