yeah, once you pull your old head off, it will be right between the top side of the two middle cylinders.

THe oil jet is the * in the "pic". Just kinda pry it out, i just took needle nose pliers and pulled it out, not hard. And vtec wont activate without it out, you will starve your mtor of oil. And be carful of detonation until you get that thing tuned, mine detonated a bunch below 2K rpms at full throttle. This was in my 89 crx with an a6 block. Dunno if your sohc zc is diff.

another question you need to ask is which bolts to use, the different heads have different length bolts. I can't remember which ones you're suposed to use, but I know it makes a difference.

while you're replacing the head gasket anyway, get a D16Y8 head gasket. It's thinner and gives you a slightly higher compression.

Just to answer a couple of questions in your earlier post, you should be able to use the same plugs/plug wires. To engage VTEC, you can splice wires to your original ECU, you can use an RPM switch, you can splice a wire from your aftermarket tach into the ECU, or you could just run the ghetto switch. VTEC at low RPMs would rock... and yes, take the oil jet out... Not too sure about what head studs to use, it makes sense to me to use the bolts that go with the head. Just an example, say the Z6 head was 1/4 taller, the Z6 bolts would be that much longer to compensate for the longer distance. Not for sure though, someone who knows for sure needs to answer that.

ok, to correct about the y8 head gasket, its not true. Im using one, and its a myth, well, thats what soem sources told me after i did it. I think theres a 2ply head gasket out there from honda that may be thinner, but i doubt its as strong. My y8 gasket was 3ply.

Oh, and about vtec at lower rpms, nonono. Right now im running my stock crx si ecu, with a switch for vtec, and if you switch it on any earlier than 4800 rpms, its useless, you can hear the motor quiet down, and power sucks, much better when you flip it at 4800.

I used si head bolts, and they worked fine for me, no problems yet.

I am about to send the head i got off someone on here to a machine shop, because even though he siad it had 40,000 miles on it, it burns more oil than my old 190,000 mile head, its just blows oil like no other. So im about to send it off, and go ahead an put on some crower vavle springs and retainers, and a stage 2 cam, and im swapping over to obd1.

Im hoping for 14's. WIth an 8lb flywheel, stage 1 clutch, i/h/e, and a skunk2 intake mani.

Now that I think about that, I see that the low RPMs with VTEC would not work that well due to oil pressure. Good thinking. The theory was good...
