Does anyone have VIR results?
more sad news for the R&D kar... dropped a valve during practice down the front stretch. intake valve in cyl. 4 broke in 2 places, somehow the end got flipped around, and melted onto one of the exhaust valves and just hammered the piston.
so they're out for the weekend.
not sure about all the results but Evans didn't roll H1 for once
during the last lap or two, (he thinks) he blew the wheel bearing which caused his rotor to grind into the inside of his caliper. lots of smoke and fire resulted
fire extinguisher was needed, but he finished the race in 2nd... he managed to hold off whittacker until the final stretch.
i've got some pics of the R&D kar that i'll post up later tomorrow prolly

You were there too? I saw your brother's car out on track. I hung out for a few hours with Hooch and a couple other we-todds.
Wrong-Way was third overall, Jason was fourth.
R&D is already on their way back home
Apparently the total field was 63 cars (ECHC, small-bore, Spec Miata all out there at the same time).

The 2nd topic sucks. Warren was really strong today. I didn't have anything for him, but somehow managed to squeak out the H2 lap record.
Go figure
I'll take it. Congrats to the winners, and a big congrats to Morgan Hitt on a well-earned Road Race Gear Hard Charger award

Dang it.

Yep....Shhh...back at the shop now...swapping away...we want to see what some high lift Ds will do to a B20 block....
As for the valve, not sure what exactly happend but the break was right under the retainer - 2 piece Supertecs and we think where the 2 pieces are fused together - no point in crying over it now.
#01 will be back in the hunt tomorrow...someone hand us some RED BULL!!!!!!!!!!

Awesome. And I thought that stuff was only on TV. Love to hear stories about how the crew was up all night puting the car back together in time for Sunday's race.
Good luck guys.

I was happily drinking a Red Oak up on the deck watching the small bore race yesterday (Saturday) and I gotta say - having watched a lot of racing cars in the past 20+ years, the H1 cars at the front of that grid are pretty freakin' impressive. It was great to see the racing all the way down through the pack as well. Excellent job, everyone!

You bet your *** I can.
Slagg left the track early afternoon IIRC. The story goes, the swap out of Chad's car started at 10:30 or so, which included removing a turbo. At 2:30 it was running.
He was back in the paddock by like 8:00 with a working car.
The R&D guys are either crazy or impressive...but I say both. SERIOUSLY hardcore.

Karl, it gets even better. Once the motor blew, chad immediately calls home and gets ahold of another RandD pit-lackey and says "Head to the shop and take the motor out of my car and get it ready to be dropped in the race car when we get back tonight so i can drive back to VIR and race on sunday" Is SLAGG freakin crazy or just enjoys racing that much?? Still cannot believe he did it.
