Yeah your right, I was the one working the counter who looked up the part, orderd it and also didn't bother to tell myself that there was more than one part listed...oh wait thats wasn't me.
I have a feeling that I was given the relay by the head light do to the rubber boot on it. but I was merly looking under the dash where everyone says to look, above the hood release latch, but not high enough.

Its still your fault, the minute you saw it you should know it wasnt right, always know what your going to get before you go and get it, car part people can be real stupid.

you guys act like youve never made a mistake before. give the guy a break he got the wrong part, im sure we have ALL got the wrong part AT LEAST ONCE. yeah he got the wrong part, but that doesnt mean you have to make him feel stupid for coming here to ask you guys, thats why we all come here for knowledge, not to get insulted by people when we make mistakes.
The main relay on most if not all hondas are 7 pin. I have seen the case be brown, grey, black. Check with honda if you are not sure about the part number. Part numbers are your salvation when working with OEM. The part descriptions in parts catalog's, computers and databases usually just say relay asm or something along those lines. And to think, there are more than just 5 relays on a car. Part numbers, can't live with em', can't live without em'.
Oh yeah, what is the part number on the relay you bought??? Cause it sound like you got a different relay, not the main relay.

Save yourself some moolah and you can fix it yourself. Pop the main relay apart and you can easily resolder. If you look really closely on the solder joints on the bottom of the PCB there are small hairline cracks that are circular in the solder joints. Re solder all the main pins that are cracked/likely to crack. That is the reason they are intermittent when they get hot from use or being out in the sun. They expand and no more conductivity until they cool down again.
Peace,
Caleb

the main relay for 4g civic/crx's has RZ-0063 on it. they ALL have this on it. if you flip through any online Honda parts catalog THAT number will be listed next to the correct part.
if you get another 'main' relay and this is not on it, then you do not have the right part.
FYI 90-93 Honda accord main relays are 7-pin and have RZ-0088 on them (i just fixed one).
