i have an automatic 1997 LX Accord. first of all what is the name of the engine? second is there a 97' lx manual transmission and if not, is there another model (EX, SE, V6) manual transmission that will fit my engine? p.s. i'm not interested in a motor swap just to help you out.

yes there is manual verion, but any H/F transimission (excluding those equiped w/ ATTS) will bolt onto your engine.

do any of the other transmissions have an advantage over the f22b2 manual transmission?

someone with an h22 tranny on a f22b1 said they liked it a whole lot, because it has shorter gearing. the h23 trannies are pretty much similar gears to that. The F series transmissions are all pretty much longer? well except for the f20b, f20c, as far as i know the f20b is similar to the h series trannies, and well the f20c is from the s2000, pretty sure that wouldnt work, just git whichevers cheapest
