Thinking about turbo/manifold selection. Need to decide on a turbo/manifold.
Sky is the limit. I am building a setup that might end up in a full chassis car. It will start off in a street car though. I need a/c and p/s to start. The problem is I don't want to spend several thousand dollars on a turbo kit that will become obsolete if I need more power and need to go to a T4. What power levels has anyone seen with a T3/T4 setup and still in the efficiency range of the turbo?

You're slippin matt! The sc61 and 63 can be had as a t3/t4. You can get upwards of 650whp with the right setup, but you can make more with a t4 turbine housing. The bigger housing will have less backpressure at the motor and will free up power. If it will end up in a pro car, i'd definitely go straight t4.

 

ahhh on me. been on hydrocodone for the last couple days so I not thinking straight.

I was re-wiring my fans since I got my new condenser and PWR radiator and was testing the polarity, the fan started to fall and my natural reaction was to catch it, but the blade caught my thumb and sliced it to the bone and chipped a piece off.

 

Damn, that sucks. I've been attacked by a fan before too. Only mine was stupid, i disconnected it and didn't feel like waiting for it to stop so i went to slow it down with my finger but it was sharper than i expected! Not as bad as your cut, but a cut none the less.

 

yea, thing is, I didn't even feel it, then blood was gushing all over and went to wash it off, then looked at it lol...btw I took pictures with my new spiffy phone.

so better safe than sorry I went to the emergency room, now I gotta wait for them to see whats up as far as infection THEN they sew it up. So I don't get to finish my car for a week or so.

 

bummer man, my friend had a similar accident between his index finger and the cam gears on a running motor, was tightening a strut bolt when the ratchet broke and finger went into the gear and chopped about 1" off the tip. he threw it in a cup of ice and went and had that fricker sewn back on and it looks alright now(about 3 months later) Finger nail is just a little messed up looking.

But a turbo with a T4 housing and the same A/R and trim of wheel will lag more, correct?

 

i was going with a t4 turbine but am really not revving that high (7500-7800) so i didn't want to kill my power band, ill hate to start making power at 5500 and shift at 7500

so i went with a t3 turbine on my new 60-1

but if you get a .69 T4 turbine you cant go wrong

What turbine will flow more a .69 t4 or a .82 t3 ?

The .69 T4 will flow more than an .82 A/R T3, also depending on the turbine wheel you choose, the T3 Stage 5 wheel is bigger on the exducer(inner blade) than an N or O trim T4 but is still smaller than both on the Major(Outer portion of the wheel) Derron you shouldv'e bought my T3/60-1 .82 A/R turbine ad Stage 5 turbine wheel. Barry in SC was the lucky buyer.
