Default HELP! Low Idle...

When i start my car cold the rpm's start at 1100 and then slowely drop to around 400 when the engine is warm. At this point the rpm's bounce between 300 and 400 rpm's every few seconds. When i hit the gas the rpm's drop even more before the engine rev's up. I adjusted the throttle screw and I can even hear the air being sucked in through my cold air intake...any idea's??? For one thing the Intake Air Temp sensor is mounted on the intake right before the TB. Would this matter...THANKS!

The air intake temp sensor is supposed to be mounted there with a P28, so don't worry about it.

You should always be able to hear air being sucked through the intake tube on a CAI.

Sounds like you're running rich to me. What do the plugs look like?

What would cause it to run rich? I'll check the plugs but i think they are less than a year old. Anyone else?

I think the first thing you should do is check the ecm for any diagnostic codes. If you have any codes diagnose as usual. If you have none, maybe check for a vacuum leak...

I actually had the IAT sensor unplugged and the check engine light never came on...as for that i don't know how the person who originally did the swap wired it. If it is a vaccum leak, how would i check for that?

not entirely sure but i would think a vacuum leak would make your car idle fast rather than slow.

Okay, i don't konw if this has anything to do with it, but...There is something located right by the winshield, attached to the firewall, next to the VIN number, which has 2 sensors going to it...well mine only has the top sensor connected and one of the hoses connected to the bottom of it is missing (there is a T joint with 3 hoses)...what is this???
