Default I know it's beaten to death but... really.. i have d series motor, do i use zr or br spark plugs?!?!

Hahah don't tell me to search, i've did it... my question is different.

OK i got a d16y8 which is a SOHC VTEC on the 96+ civics... my STOCK plug is

ZFR5F-11, NOT the B____ one..

ok i called ngk and they told me that if i got turbo and get 75hp more, go 1 colder which is ZFR6F-11

so i don't understand why D SERIES people go use the B____ spark plug which are for the DOHC VTEC/NON-VTEC b16a, b18c, b17a, b18b etc etc...

is there any gain or better usage if using those plugs in my d series? because ngk told me that each spark plug is very diff from car to car, like the Z means something, and R and F, like that picture of the code of spark plug says.

so the B spark plug doesn't stick out as much as the D one etc.. here

i use bkr7e's because other turbo d16's use em and they work and they are cheap. a friend of mine has used the zfr's in his setup with greddy blue box and they looked fine after we pulled them.

so its your preference really.

i've ran the zfr6 and bkr6 both in my d-series on low boost and haven't noticed any difference really. as long as you're tuned well and take care of the car and gap ur plugs properly both plugs should be fine. i'd like to see someone dyno both plugs in a sohc and see if there are any small differences in power but i doubt there would be

I only use the BR's on both b and d series turbo engines.

honestly...i'd much rather go with what the people that make the plugs use...rather than what the poeple on here use.

Sure, some of them are fast...but efficent combustion is nothing to play around with. Listen to NGK....they HAVE to know what they are talking about.
