Bought a pair of used cams for my LS motor. The head is all rebuilt with new OEM valvetrain(the cams are Crane #12s, rated OK for use with OEM valvetrain).

Question:

Since the cams are used(12k miles) do I need to do any special break in procedure?

I just assumed to assemble everything with the usual assembly lube?

change oil after 500 miles or so.

 

Once assembled, run it at 2000 rpm for 20 min, to make sure its properly lubed. Also change the oil after 100 miles.
