Default Launching with 7lb flywheel on slicks all motor???

i recently tested my car out fo r the first time on slicks at a 1/8th track. And was wondering around what rpm to launch at.? The car is a 89 crx si with a b18c w/itr pistons, and bolt ons. The tranny setup is open diff b16 s1 tranny with CM 7lb flywheel and exedy street clutch. using 22X8X13 m&h slicks.

results from launching at 5500-6000rpm
reaction-0.619
60ft-2.0
e.t- 8.800
mph- 80.097

reaction-0.580
60ft-1.972
e.t-8.985
mph-78.273
Was just wondering if i should try a higher launch rpm to maybe improve my 60's. ?

i had em at 14 in the beginning, but was spinning.
so i tried 9lbs but was too little and couldnt steer.
i found 11 was perfect

but im thinking the gauge i had was inaccurate

also stopped racing that night because the tires were rubbing the suspension sometimes.

Do you do a long burn or a short burn out.

Good Job you get that fixed right away

Just short 1st gear burnouts since the track seemed to being hooking up very well, it is brand new. i tried a couple long burnouts and hit 9.0's. Oh and is it necessary to balance the wheels?

Maybe its just me and i need more track time. thanks for the help SlicksMH

yah i need to get em balanced and get some spacers. they were kind of pulling to one side at the end of the track so every time i wasnt going 100% in third gear

im going to assume that the Street Clutch may have something to do with the 60ft.s
How does it feel like. does it feel like the clutch is slipping and not grabbing enough.
The Exedy Street Clutch is a stock clutch pretty much and isnt the best for Launching on slicks. maybe with a better Puck style Disc, your car could grab harder and pull better 60ft.s

yah one of the main reasons i didnt drive too aggressive was the clutch. i picked up a 6 puck ACT disc today.
