Default Please Help! D series probs (noise/valve/timing)

My current setup is a D15B8 with a 16V DX Head and Y8 Headgasket.

Yesturday i decided to do a valve adjustment. after setting it to .009 and .015 i also set the cam advanced one tooth due to the fact that before my timing was at -2 even though the dizzy was fully advanced. after that procedure my timing was able to be advanced normally via the dizzy.

well the problem is, now my engine makes a roaring noise that wasnt there before. i mean it isnt a bad noise (arrrrhhhhhhhhhhgggggggg). it makes it at around 2.5K under medium/full throttle and i cant figure out why. the timing is at +4 degrees and valve were adjusted to .016 and .020 (warm engine).

Also, high end acceleration seemed to be weaker then before. I might also be detonating, not sure exactly.

What i am trying to ask is...

Is the engine supposed to make this noise while accelerating if it never before?
Can a valve adjustment or timing adjustment affect my car this way?
Why is it that when my crank and cam is at TDC and my dizzy fully advance, my timing is at -2?

thanks for reading

Why'd you set it to .009 and .015, isn't it suposed to be like .007 and .009???

actually stock setting are 20 and 25. would valve clearance make this engine roaring/struggling noise?

.007 and .009 is in inches, mines actually at .006 and .008.

your talking in mm, helms says .18 and .23mm

also valve adjust should be done on a cold engine, engine should run smoother after a valve adjust not worse. Try dseries.org for more info on your other questions, not sure why you -2 off.

when you move the timing belt one tooth its approx 10 degrees..might be too much...also,never check and adjust those valves on a warm engine..it has too be cold, under 100 degrees. Those adjustment specs dont look right but im not sure on the DX head, ill check that tomorrow.
