3in exhaust, no cat, no coolant missing, no oil in coolant ot vise versa. Its only on cold start, once i run it, it dosent smoke at all. Compression test 240's across the board. The car runs strong as ever, but im concerned b/c im about to retune plus im driving it to nopi. Its a nice cloud after 10-15min, no real odor tho. Its rained alot here latley, could condensation do this? Thanks.

 

I had the SAME thing this evening....very very humid out this evening, like rain was in the air.

 

maybe water that build up. condensation if its does no harm itll be ok

well i was having the same thing happen to my car and then guess what happened THE HEADGASKET BLEW YESTERDAY!!! now im getting HUGE AMOUNTS OF WHITE SMOKE AND OVERHEATING!!!. get that **** checked!!! i belive that those are the signs of a gasket waiting to blow. i have experiance form 2 cars

yes, a white smoke out of the tail pipe usally indicate a blown head gasket. However, if you live in cold place where there is alot of moisture in the air. This white smoke could also be water moisture in the exhaust system being evaporized to steam. You can usally comfirm this if there is water dripping out of the tail pipe.
If a head gasket is questionable, some time coolant could be trace by just reading the plugs. if you pull the plugs out and inspect the tip - if you see a greenish color on the tip it is an indication of a coolant being burn in the combustion camber. Also, another trick is remove the radiator cap let the car idle if you see a bubble like air packets, after the vehicle had been warmed up this is also an indication of combustion gasket exiting out of the cooling system; but however, this is not the most effect way to diagnose head gasket failure. The way to truely comfirm the radiator test is to hook up a leak down tester. but again, leak down does not really help if the head gasket is really not bad.

Well the point is if the vehicle is not over heating, losing coolant, and no idle or starting problem; It is safe to say that it's perhaps just a water vapors.

 

if it doesnt do it at anywhere else but idle it might not be anything to serious yet but can progress....could be valve seats, when they are bad they will smoke under cold starts until the car warms up....but def. get it checked out before it can possibly get worse....

yes, because when you perform a leak down you remove the radiator cap to see if the air is leak out of the cooling system. I have found that the gasket as to be really bad for the down to find it. Now, I use gas bench to see if HC is found on the coolant.

 

i had the same problem. turned out it was just my turbo. check the charge piping for signs of oil, and around the downpipe too.

headgasket, valve seals, blown turbo.... dunno... plenty of possibilities.
