Default Knock sensor code

I'm getting the knock sensor code on the ecu after doing Sir swap. Before installing engine, I noticed the sensor was physically broken. Could using the car without sensor cause anything bad? If I run good gas, in theory there should be no problem. Or, could the sensor affect engine performance by retarding the timing for example. Any info appreciated,

I think the knock sensor will put the cars ECU into limp mode (lower/no vtec, crappy gas millage, lower redline, basicly crap mode) Best is to just get a new one and do away with the code. Knock sensor is kinda pointless IMO, becuse if you have knock your GOING to hear it

I ran my car for over 3000 miles with the knock sensor code on with no problems...I fixed it with a shielded wire and a brand new knock sensor installed in my b18 block...just had to retread a spot...
