Electronic turbo/blower thingy
just wondering if anybody out there has experimented with those elctronic turbo blowers that im seeing for sale everywhere.
Im starting to become pretty interested in getting one.
If you have one on your teg or have an opinion about them, shout back.
Thanks

Those "electric" turbos are crap. They're just blowers that you can get at a marine shop for $20.
This site explains it all.

lol, dont waste your time with one of those pieces of ****. i read a study done on them and they rev up to their top speed REALLY fast. you wanna know why? cause they revolve extremely slow. if you want to push some major air, you need a fast spinning fan not a quick one. these things are high quality useless pieces of **** though. so if you want something that nobody else has (because it sucks), then by all means go ahead. but if you dont wanna end up lookin like a dumbass, steer clear. these things interested me when i first seen them, but after a little research and comparison i discovered their true power... none.

Offset a little maybe, but it doesn't nearly counteract the gains. I'm not proponent of this design, especially without added fuel management, but since 796 watts of electrical power makes one HP, a (18 * 12 = 200ish) drain on your alternator will not draw 10-15 horsepower from your engine. 1hp, maybe, due to inefficiency losses, but that's it.

I'm sure you're right about the actual loss created by the increased amp load, but my point is that I don't think that small plastic fan is going to create more than a couple horsepower in the first place. I could be wrong, but I doubt you would see even a marginal gain using this device. I'll believe it when I see the dyno.

farting into your intake in theory would actually be a great way to increase hp, if only for a split second. its basically a straight shot of methane gas. wonder what size shot it is. hmmm...
