golden eagle cam gear torque?
ttt
someone here must have these. at anywhere near that torque (ie 15ft-lb) it starts to deform the inner metal portion of the cam gear. I stopped torquing when i saw that happen. Already deformed one of these nice gears.
In addition, the main cam bolt says to only torque down to 37ft-lb. Seems like a lot less than stock torque.
i'll be in touch with GE today. So much for instructions.

talked to Ted at GE and apparently it's expected that the aluminum will deform under the torqued washers and they do like them torqed that much.
is it just me or is the idea of deforming new parts upon installation a little unsettling, even if the manufacturer says that is the way it is supposed to be?
who are you talking about? Ted at GE?
vince at GE also confirmed that it is expected for them to deform at 20ft.lbs and that this is normal and not to worry! jeeze, it was very unsettling to hear them crunching and deforming as i approach their stated torque.
