well your gonna get ripped up in some turns and in the straights..also in the dirt....if it were up to me i would take the evo, but an r isnt too shabby...im a honda guy so i would really take any one of those...the evo is a bit over priced though because of the markup

Depends...do you have $18k to spend or $32k+? That's a huge difference if you ask me, so maybe you need to figure out how much you want to spend first. Then decide what type of driving you will be doing the most.

True.... There are only three thing holding me back from turbo:

1) I want my car to be able to park with hot engine.... No time and no will to run it cold before parking

2) The competition class will change with turbo... No more funny racing in the N2-Group together with other 1,6-2,0l all motor cars...

3) I am a all motor guy... I like the scream of an n/ a car and accept that I am running in MY competition while other cars run in THEIR competition class. No need for me to compare those cars on the street.

But that`s just me. Austrians Turbo-R is a masterpiece..

Anyone know the details of Austrian's R? And as for the original poster, you say you're in the UK, so are you talking about not necessarily the newest Evo and STi? I think the performance wasn't AS huge with the previous versions of both of those (between them and the R), although I'm pretty sure the R would still come up with higher track times. Whatever the case, I'm a fan of STis, especially the older ones. 22B comes to mind, though that's an extreme...

Sounds like he has a nasty set up, but I would have to say that the best Turbo R set up I've seen would have to be this one
http://www.turborepair.com/AcuraR/typer.htm
I mean over 400hp and running mid 11's with full interior, power steering, ac and all. This car is hella bad ***.

Personally I'd take Christian's setup.

If I had something like that I'd like it to still be manageable on a road course. 400hp fwd seems...iffy. Who can say torque steer?
