Default bought my new STS car today

If anybody cares. I bought my new dedicated STS car instead of using my 00 si as both daily driver and race car. Its an 89 civic si with 89k original miles. It won't be built for a few more weeks but can't wait to get started on it.

What's the deal with the black "DX" or STD front bumper?

Nice choice though...keep us updated on the build.

Yeah, but then you ALSO have to buy 20 sets of springs, 13 sway bars and 4 different exhausts...j/k!!

BTW...STD bumpers on Si's look trick...Especially if you're too lazy to paint em..

Jeff

Who has recently come into a relatively "inexpensive" Si that is a complete basket case..

the dx or standard bumpers are all black, the 88-89 si bumpers had theblack only above the moulding. Below the mouldling it was body colored. For 90 and 91 they changed it so the entire thing (except the moulding) is body colored.

Ps I did the same thing as you more or less, I have a 2000 Si that was seeing double duty and decieded to retire her from a non competitive life in street mod (jrsc) and go back to sts where the fun is at for me. I bought a 91 si for 2 grand, but is has a zillion miles on it. It should be a good car.

Awesome! Car looks to be in good shape, and low mileage too for an '89 model. Not bad at all.

Congrats Ryan. Should be a lot of fun for you, though I'm not fond of the idea of getting my *** handed to me at every event when you get your new ride dialed in.

89-91 si's are taking over baby... haha

89k miles... good deal, how much you pay?

i got my 1990 with slight damage for $500 with 130k miles. spent about $1100 to get her back to new (frame straightening, new fender/hood/radiator/CV's)

Congrats on the purchase... Mine has the std front bumper too. Debating on how to do the motor. (recond for $270) or rebuild the one I have sitting in my garage.

if the 92-95 ex's are the hot topic, then why are the hatchbacks winning the classes, even at national level?

how many pro-solo's can you name that have been won by a hb??

how many national tours have i gone to?

how many 92-95 ex's are being driven in sts at a national level?

how many 89-91 hb's are being driven in sts?

i rest my case.

Yeah, Nate has this theory that his longer and wider wheelbase on his 92-95 Coupe + his extra weight on the same size tire (with no more power mind you) will somehow be able to dominate the 89-91 Si hatches

That about sum it up? j/k
