How to check Tranny when it's out of car (without tearing it a part)?
check what? it's generall condition?
No there's no way to inspect a tranny by lookin at the exterior of it...
You can make assumptions by driving it and listening to it run... but the only way to truely "inspect" it is to dis-assemble and inspect it.

I just want to know if it has some bad bearings because it makes noise while the car is running at any speed. I know it's not the wheel bearings or axles cuz I've already replaced them.
It's probobly the internal bearings... I believe it's a pretty common problem...
My tranny used to whir like a beotch... I put in redlines mtl and it has slowly but surely gone away... I also don't engine brake at all anymore which I think helped out a bit...
HOWEVER... MANY MANY people have told me that redline in fact CAUSES pre-mature bearing wear... So wtf do I know...
But to answer your original question...
No there is no way to look at the tranny (from the outside) and tell what kind of condition the inside is in... unless of course you are superman... in which case could you please rob a bank for me in return for my help?
