Broken timing belt, Need advice.
Well, my 89 Prelude 2.0SI has broken its timing belt in a less than graceful manner. I has crunched at least one valve and most likely a piston. I changed the belt @ 100K and the motor currently has 140K so the belt isnt that old. But needless to say i think i need a new engine. Anything i can do to the 2.0 motor to pep it up a little while its being rebuilt? or better yet what other motors will fit under the hood, and what would be involved in a Vtec swap? I found a junkyard block for 500, but i am tempted to improve as i rebuild. I wanna hear some suggestions...

https://honda-tech.com/zerothread?id=575281,, time to conisedr a new motor, don't waste your money on rebuilding the old one, do a swap, good luck, search around for motor swaps into the 3rd gen
I agree. If you want to keep your car, get an H22A swap. It won't be cheap, but it will be a fun car. If you don't want the swap, you have to repair the current engine to be able to sell or keep the car. You'll probably lose money either way.
well, i looked into that swap and its kinda pricy. This is my moms car, so whle she would like the extra power, its fast enough for her. So it looks like we are gonna pull the head off and check it outthe damage and then decide where to go from there. Thanks guys.
