synthetic vs regular oil

I'm sure this isn't a brand new engine. It's been broken in already. I'd use synthetic unless you have an oil leak, then I'd use either sonventional or one of the new High Mileage oils for older engines. Synthetic leaks fadter than conventional, if you were wondering.

I will touch nothing but synthetic
I ran dino oil for about 6 months to kind of clean it out and make sure it was in normal operating conditions, and then switched to synthetic. One thing you should note is that synthetic usually has higher levels of detergents in it, so for the first few oilchanges your oil will be black as pitch coming out. That's the synth detergents eating the poop off the inside of your engine so don't worry about it
. I stuck with synth for over a year now and my oil on changing is now a nice light brown colour.
Synth makes it faster too

I'm personally a fan of plain old Quaker State 5w-30, non-synthetic....never did me wrong, and it's what Honda suggests as oil for the life of the car. Then again I dont roadrace often, in that case a synthetic might be better.
regular oil is fine, syntehic only once every 2-3 regular oil changes.........synthethic DOES NOT have detergents to clean ur motor out...regular oil does, if u open up a motor thats been babied with synthetic compared to regular oil, you will see that syn turns everything in the motor like brown stained colored......opposed to regular it has detergents to clean out the tiny tiny particles of metal bouncing around in your lovely motors....but then again.......i stand corrected.....synthethic=brown stained motors, reg=has detergents doesnt turn motor grimmy brown yellowish color....
