Does anyone use drag race wheels like bogarts?
There are a few on here that use the Lenso VPD "Tom Slick", in 13x7.5. It's relatively cheap and light and hold up well from what i've heard... http://www.exospeed.com ...A fellow competitor i know also uses the 13x8 Volk TE37(?) drag wheels on his auto-x Miata without any problems.
Drag racing wheels are generally not designed to withstand excessive lateral loads as they sacrifice hub strenght for light weight. Some more than others. Common sense should prevail here. Be very weary of 5lb 13x9 drag wheels for example...
Also, AFAIK, DOT certification is not a requirement in most series and most racing wheels designated for "race only" are not DOT approved, ie Panasport ULs for example.

Welds may work ok.</TD></TR></TABLE>I don't think the weight of a rim has anything to do with whether or not it will hold up.
On that note, the guy I codrove with in Wendover had Bogart 3piece rims on his 2001 Camaro Z28. I don't know how long he's been using them, however. I have seen Centerlines crack and break under autocross forces before, and so I would ask about applications before shelling out the cash on something that may not be suitable.

Here's the problem with drag rims. No one is going to tell you it's okay to use them because you're using them for something that they're not designed for.
HOWEVER, I know many drivers (myself included) who are using "Drag only rims" for autocrossing without problems. One in particular is on Bogart rims.
I know it's not really an answer but it's the same one I got when I was buying "Drag only rims" (Lenso VPDs)

Yes, I know that. But I meant lightweight, as in flimsy, delicate, and unsubstantial.. The Bogarts are made of relatively thin aluminum.
here's a picture of my set (the rears):

Ya that's kinda what I expected. I was just curious if anyone is trying their luck. A local guy has been using VPDs since the beginning of the season.
I forgot more about hondas then you will ever know....

Bogart does not strictly make drag wheels. For the uninformed Rich Bogart makes Monocoque, made the Litespeed and use to make the rims for Kodiak wheels. Most of the Force 5 series and many of wheels they manufacture are RR wheels and are fine for Solo II just don't use their light weight low, laterial strength drag wheels.
