how to replace brake rotors?
Front?
Remove wheel. Remove 2 12mm(or are they 14mm ITS LATE!
) bolts holding brake caliper. Hang brake caliper on upper a arm with zip tie (to prevent un-necessary tension on brake line)
I wonder if you can just remove the bracket and caliper as one???
Remove 2 17mm bolts from caliper bracket (wraps around rotor)
SPECIAL TOOL ALERT!
Use IMPACT phillips driver to loosen 2 phillips screws holding Rotor to hub.
Use a correct size bolt (not sure size, sorry) and insert into threaded holes(2) on rotor. tighten evenly to seperate Rotor from hub.
Remove.
When installing the new rotor, hand tighten those phillps screws.

I changed my rotors and pads two weeks ago, not that hard, only took 2hrs. Just be sure to have the IMPACT driver like Chris mentioned, without it you'll only strip the screws and be screwed, no pun intended. Do you need to insert bolts to remove the rotors? I just smacked my rotor lightly with a rubber mallet to loosen it, that worked fine for me.

Also, you want to make sure that you don't press the brake pedal until everything is back together because the piston will press out in the caliper and you'll have hell trying to compress it to get it to fiton the rotor (there was a LONG thead about the hours and days it took to get it back in, LOL).
Good luck, -C
By "impact phillips driver" do you mean an air-driven tool or one of those things that turns the screw minutely when you smack the handle with a hammer? How much does the latter cost generally?

i replaced the rotors on my friends 93 prelude si the other day. He had NO tools, so it was hard. (I had brought the absolutely necessary ones from my garage) The job is simple, but it had probably never been done before on it, so things were a little harder than normal. he didn't have an impact driver, so one of the screws stripped and i had to drill it out. it was a major bummer.
all i can say is definately get an impact driver.

Absolutely spend the 12bux on that impact screwdriver.....I cannot express this enough. I did not spend the 12 bux and had one HELL of a time getting those sumbishes out. Turned a 2-hour rotor/brake job 2-days of mental terror!!
Of all the engineering marvels that befits these Honda/Acura automotive machines....those cheap-*** phillips head screws completely puzzle the shiet out of me!!! They could have at least made them hex-head!!
Peace.....

I had a REAL bitch of a time getting an Impact Driver. I went to Pep Boys, didn't have it.
Sears, didn't have it.
Autozone, didn't have it
Finally I got one at Advanced Auto Parts for $20. Plus, whenever said I needed an impact driver to the people at those other auto parts places, they said they only know of the compressed air powered ones, stupid dipshits!

And you were expecting a more knowledgable response from some pee on???
BTW if you can't find an impact driver at your local parts store, Home Depot carries them for $19.97. Look in the same row as other screw drivers.
