losing oil
I have been watching my oil level since my last two oil changes. I checked it today and i was three quarts low, wtf I brought to the dealer and they are looking at it tomorrow. This happend last time and they told me to top it off and they will start a compression test on it. There is obviously a problem and they don't want to fix it or they dont know what it is. Do you guys have any idea why i am losing so much oil. My warrranty is up in a few thousand miles and want to get it fixed so i can put on my i/h thanks
3 quarts low? The motor will barely take 5. You're either burning a ton of oil, have a leak, or the tech messed up on your last oil change and didn't put enough oil in.
damn, 3 quarts? either your always in vtec range or your car's fucked.
so tomorrow is the second time the dealer is going to look at your car? if they don't find anything tomorrow, bring it back for a third time before you warranty expires. if they can't find anything the third time, research about the "lemon law". according to it, you should get a new car if a problem is not fixed by the third time.
good luck...

join the club. Mine started around 80,000 also. Now it's getting pretty bad. I'm going to stick either some Type S slugs or some Wiseco 11.5:1 slugs in there with some new valve seats

My 89 Civic also used to drink oil. He was a pure oilcaholic
But I beat this bad habit out of him by replacing the piston rings. So now no drinking and running anymore...

the dealer called me back and told me that i was losing a quart of oil every thousand miles and they said that it was normal for preludes to do that. is that bull sh** or what
I am friends with a couple of mechanics and they said its most likely that the pistons ring are worn out. I have a warranty and it should be coverd but there saying that is just the way preludes are. They should replace it right, because my warrantycovers all iternal parts of the engine
