Default Correct badging for 4ws VTEC?

Does anyone know what the correct badging is for JDM Preludes (4th gen) that had both VTEC and 4ws?

I'm swapping in my H22 and have been kicking around the idea of re-badging my car, but I'd like to know what the correct badging is. TIA

I have seen a couple 4th Gens before with those crazy Silver Vtec stickers on the bottom of the side panel.. looks sick on black 4th gens.. but regardless I dont think I have ever seen a Boot Badge with Vtec and 4ws on it

they stop having 4ws in 92 or 93 i thought. the 4ws only came on si models. vtec was a seperate model all together my friend.

nope. in japan some of them came with VTEC only, but some came with VTEC and 4WS. thus, their chassis codes were different; BB1 and BB4.
you are probably talking about the USDM models, where 4WS came only on Si's and was disscontinued in 94.
Also, JDM Si and USDM Si were not the same either. JDM Si sported a 2.2l DOHC non-VTEC motor, instead of the USDM 2.3l

seriously? No VTEC has 4ws? There is a kid i sorta knew from high school, I fixed his audio system for him and could have sworn it was a VTEC 4ws.... it was a black 4th gen in mint condition...

VTEC and 4ws were never available together on the USDM prelude.

I have heard that such a prelude was available in Japan, but it looks like it wasn't badged any differently....oh well. Maybe I'll just debadge the car entirely or something.

Hello,

*All* 4G Preludes here (in Europe) in "Si" and "VTEC" trims had 4WS. And all 5th gen Preludes have it as well !
The badging is the following:
- Si => 2.3i
- VTEC => 2.2i VTEC
I have friends who have the 2.2i and it has 4WS in standard (for all years)
Note that the 4WS is not mentioned, though i have definitely seen the "2.3i 4WS" sticker somewhere...

There are other subtle differences - for instance my engine is a H23A2 and the rear windshield wiper was standard, or for 92-95 models the front lights are JDM ones (black 'twin round' housing)

yep you're right. Some of them have 4WS (2.3 and 2.2VTEC), some not. Chassis code is the same. I've a VTEC with 4WS and it 's still BB1.
Definitely the weakest Preludes with 2.0 motors didn't have 4WS (available in EUR).

In Japan, the 4WS VTEC model's chassis code is BB1 and the VTEC model's chassis code is BB4.

I do not know of how the badging would be though.

I have yet to see (in France) a non-4WS 4th gen VTEC or 2.3i. actually yes the 2.0i did not have it but as i stated in my post, it concerns 2.3i and 2.2i and 5th gens VTEC (as there were 5th gens non-VTEC as well). I've seen a few dozen of Preludes in meetings etc. -> all have 4WS...
So i'm quite sure of that. I think Honda simplified French lineup and had only 4WS models available (again, for 2.3i and 2.2i variants). Besides i got this info confirmed at my Honda dealership...

lol, so it looks like there is no badging for the VTEC 4ws Prelude that advertises both...what a shame.

I have seen long '4WS' stickers along the side skirts of some Accords. Model 89 or 90 i cant remember - those were the Accords with flip up lights like 3rd gen Preludes. So there's definitely a 4WS 'official' sticker but only on Accords...
Yeah what a shame this system is fantastic Too bad they dropped it along with the Prelude ... Maybe from a lack of proper advertising...
