Can anyone tell me some of the symptoms for blown front hub bearings?

 

I've never had one go on a Honda, but my girlfriends VW just lost one. It's a rumbling/grinding noise accompanied by a vibration that's at it's worst around 40mph. It almost sounds and feels like their's an air compressor pump running under the hood.
