They are running a T1R exhaust. You can find them at http://www.aj-racing.com and http://www.ipsracing.com for us U.S. folks.

Wrong. They are running a custom Ti Exhaust Made by Spoon.

I am mistaken thx for clearing it up, I thought I read a post from Spikey before with the mods on the Spoon DC2 being T1R.

What is their purpose? My guess is that if the car rolled over, ti would keep the trunk from popping open accidentally?

most race shops have them, shops that deal primarily with racing, not just aftermarket sales and/or cosmetic mods. took me a while to find them for my EG... forgot the name of the shop i found them at but im on the West coast so it wouldn't help much anyway. They are made by Sparco, if that helps.
both those R's are nice!

Or because it is the Only thing holding the Hatch closed since they remove the Latch and Release Assly. for the Hatch.

Because without doing that they can't fit on the Altezzas

I'm going to have to say that its due to Rules in the N1 Super Taikyu, just like the reason for the Lock assembly being removed from the Drivers side door.

They remove the trunk latchs and use those latches. Weight reduction.
