Default b16 questions (weird situation)

ok i have a cx/GSR hybrid and spun a rod bearing a few weeks back and have decided to build the GSR, i already have ITR pistons (thanks BLACK SOHC CIVIC), rod and a new crank (THANKS C UR EX).

my car is taking way to long to get back together. so ive decided that i need a car cause its really taking a toll on my family (school and work) and so i thought about buying a d16 and putting it in but that id have to convert everything back to d series (axels, ECU, ETC.)

i dont know why i didnt think of it before but it would be cheaper for my to just buy a b16 longblock (abouit $500+shipping) and use it.

so my questions are:

-is a b16a1 pre-OBD or OBD 1?

-what do i have to do to convert it to OBD1?

-will the p72 throw codes due to the secondary butterfly?

-can i run a GSR manifold on a PR3 head?

-can i just put the B18C head on?

if i can run the P72 head on the b16 block i'll prolly just use the pr3 head on the motor im building w/ a chipped P28 ECU

SCC did it in there project civic so i know its possible, and no i dont care about the legality of it cause its no worse than any JDM motor and my hillbilly area will prolly think my motor is still stock

thanks for your time...

How much longer till your motor is complete? I don't think it's worth the hassle at all personally. You can run the B16 off teh P72 for daily driving. As long as you don't plan on beating the **** out of it. You won't throw a code for the 2ndary's, VTEC will be to low and bog though. Fuel is going to be off. Will work though.

I had a similar problem with my LSVTEC, now I run a first gen b16 and a gsr tranny.

Just run the b16 for now, with the b16 head. The ecu will run rich, but you shouldnt throw any codes. Then once you get your B18C bottom end rebuilt, take your b16 head, get it ported and polished, then throw in some new valves, springs cams and LMAs valve guides and seals....Then you could have a fun engine.

EDIT...I forget that not all first gen B16s have knock sensors, and since your ecu looks for a ks, make sure you find a motor that has one.
