Does anyone know the procedure for clipping a turbo? I am familiar of the basics of it, but which part of the turbine wheel are you actually shaving off??

From what I have read and been told, again read and ben told is that if you are clipping a turbine wheel then it is too small and your should move up to the next biggest turbine wheel. There are downfalls to clipping and is the incorrect way to try to get more flow. I am no turbo EXPERT so I would rather have Rod from Precision chime in, Geoff from Full Race and also Arturbo should have some info on this as well.

 

i've always been under the impression that both wheels have to be in perfect balance w/each other... so I would never clip to begin with, or I would take it to a pro if it needed to be done that bad

 

I have heard myself that it was take a bit longer to spool but in that case will deliver more top when done to a small turbo.

But i have also have heard it doesnt increase effenceny becouse of the waisted ex gases.

But that is from what i have heard.

If you want more CFM or more top end go with a larger size turbo i think.
