b18b swap help - timing off??????
I finally got everything all hooked up. I went to start it today in the garage(still on jack stands-no axles yet), and it barely turns over. The timing sounds really bad to me. I checked the plug wires and the spark, and they are both fine. It was my first timing belt install, and that is really starting to concern me. I followed helms all the way through it, and double checked it when I was through. I'm still not positive I did it right though. The only other thing I can think of is my 90-91 dizzy off ebay. If it was a 92-93, would that make a big difference? HELP! I don't feel like taking it all back out again. Any other ideas???? thanks.
I just checked the cam gears, and they are still lined up correctly. Is it safe to take off the crank pulley while the motor is in the car? And should I even bother trying to tell if its timed correctly that way? Would I be able to see the oil pump mark that way? thanks.
