Bilstein Sport shocks w/ H&R Sport springs...NEED OPINIONS!!!
Anybody running this set-up? I'm planning to order this week and just wondered what peoples opinions were. I'll be replacing my stock shock/Tein S-Tech springs set-up with this.
Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Although I have no first hand experience on that set-up, it is what I have been planning on for a while. I think it should be pretty good. Do you know the spring rates off hand? Have you considered the H&R race springs?
Jon7,
Nobody has been able to provide me with the spring rates for the H&R Sports...all I've been told is "they are about 20% stiffer than stock". As for the race springs, they would be too low for me. In addition to my stock wheels, I've got a set of 18's that would rub horribly with race springs.

i'm pretty sure the ITR-specific H+R sports are 276F/276R. i cannot confirm this, but i was on a quest for these #'s before and this is what i remember finding.
i'm also curious about this setup as well . . .

Those rates are not correct. I have the GS-R Sports on my car, and using that logic thing I would assume that the H&R Sports for ITRs would 1) not be softer than ITR Sport springs and 2) not be LESS than stock ITR springs (which IIRC are 280/280). I know for a fact that the H&R Sport springs are stiffer than ITR springs and much stiffer than OE Sports (which has the front "rated" on my sites as 276F also). They are also not the same rate, that much was/is obvious.

What do the Bilsteins cost?I am happy with my Advanced Design double adjustable shocks. They are all aluminum, titanium internals are aren't too terribly expensive.I certainly wouldn't buy springs if I couldn't specify the rate that I am getting.Just figured I would throw that in.There are other options.
I wouldn't get Bilsteins. Go with KONI or TOKICO.
You can't adjust them! If you are going to use the R on the Track or Auto X. Get something that you can dial in the suspension. I was thinking about going with Bilsteins til I talked to some real racers that told me.........Bilsteins are great for someone that is looking for a good shock they don't have to dial in (say if you put lowering springs on), but with Koni adjustable shocks you can have better street and track driving. I only said Tokico because it is a cheaper alternative to Koni's. If you don't trust me, you can search on the internet and ask people that race their ITR's and other honda's. I've only heard of using adjustable shocks for racing! If you are looking to lower your car for looks and not performance, I've seen some great looking R's with Bilsteins. Just .02$

ok.. Suspension tuning 101. You use adjustable dampers ONLY to adjust the dampers to the SPRING RATES. Setting them too high will make the car "stiffer" but will also make the shock react SLOWER to changes (slower than the springs).
I run Bilsteins, friends run bilsteins, I run track events, friends run them in SCCA Club Racing with VERY high rate springs. BTW, I get, at worse, 2nd place in every single autocross I do, and wow, that's with bilsteins!
If you really want to track your R, get a REAL suspension setup, not koni/tokico/bilstein/etc. If you aren't that hardcore, any of the above WILL work, including the bilsteins.

ITR stock spring rates:
246F, 140-246R (progressive)
In the H&R website, the H&R Sports for the Type R vs other model Integras have different part numbers.

OK. Well you just proved my point. If you go to a auto X were you know your going to lift a wheel, you need to dial that into your suspension. If your at a track event you need to dial that into your suspension, you shouldn't be running the same settings for both. Bilsteins are great, Koni is better! I didn't say you couldn't do well with Bilsteins. I get top 3 at most auto X's with stock shocks, I'll let you know how I do after I get KONI'S. He asked for Opinions.......Just giving mine.
i run koni yellows, and i'm going to buy a set of R-specific bilsteins. i like the front konis, but the rears (88 crx rears) are not externally adjustable, which sucks.
