I was driving 200 km/h (125 mph) back home from the Nurburgring on the autobahn (Germany) and suddenly the engine went dead. I could start the engine back on but it sounds like it was running on backup system (no VTEC). Is that possible?
Back home it turned out that the screw hit the YEL/GRN wire connector (ECM signal to ICM) and it got disconnected.
Has anyone also experienced this?

it's never happened to me, but you should use a little loctite(liquid thread) on the thread of the screw

Hmmmmm, looks like it's a known problem.....
I'm lucky nothing got damaged inside the distributor, only a piece of the plastic leak cover (inner cap)...

Distributor King
My distributor went out finally because of all the dust & crap from having the screw come loose not once, but twice (used blue loctite the second time)...
VERY happy with Pat's distributors
- my "clear" distributor cap is being delivered tomorrow, so that I can see in to check that damn screw!!!
