Two observations...
1) Unless you're shifting in all those pictures, try to have 2 hands on the wheel at all times.
2) Those hands should be either at 9 and 3 or 10 and 2. (Depending on comfort and arm length to wheel) (Example.. Pic 5... where are your hands???
)
With one hand steering, it's much easier to give more steering input then needed to complete a turn.
Watch out, this stuff is addictive. I've spent 7 years trying to escape.

I asked myself the same thing when i saw that pic....
but for sure both hands on wheels unless shifting. I still have to work on knowing when to shift and when not to. Once I went into 3rd for a second then went down to 1st when I should have went into 2nd... duh. Last weekend at my first event I was breaking too much then bogging in 2nd... I think it takes a while to get used to knowing what your car can handle. thanks...

time for an autocross school mang. my first season i took a school after my 2nd event. i went from finishing 150th or worse to top 75 at the first event after the school. there is a _steep_ learning curve in autocross and the seat time you get at a school really pushes you up that curve fast.

Well you definetely got the right car for STS, that's for sure...
And sheez, that looks like one TIGHT **** slalom in the second pic. Must be what 12-15 steps. Prolly was sawing at the wheel like crazy from cone to cone in 1st gear. Need some vaseline on the sides of the car to squeeze through.
Or maybe the picture is misleading...

slalom wasn't too bad....but the whole course was a little tight. But really what can I compare it too only running for the first time the week before. There was a slalom at the end that everyone kept killing...
I'm definitely feeling the
for the Si's. Is there anything they *can't* do? haha
-Ben, wondering how nice the pocket book would feel if his Si had become an STS work-horse instead. I got one autocross in before I built it for RR at least.

Yeah you just have to do it! A complete rush.

this is the test and tune before a three day auto-x event in Peru put together by TSSCC (just like the MGA event)
test and tune on Saturday
auto-x on Sunday and Monday

I "made" an Si out of my STD... everything but the sunroof, rear wiper, and a couple of the interior parts.
I'm racing in CSP this year, but I'm planning on moving into STS next year. I'm sick of getting my butt handed to me on a platter by CRX's and MR2's.

Would a day of HPDE be anywhere near as beneficial as an autocross school? Around here they cost half as much. I realize there is a difference but I'm thinking it would help at least a little.
