i have the es motor mount kit... the ac mount, the transmission side mount.. and the mount on the T bracket on by the firewall.. My car vibrates a little when it idles.. and lately I've been trying to take off.. stuff I have done to my car.. to make it go faster.. etc.. so i can get a better ride..

I have a friend that will swap me out his ac mount and side tranny mount for my es mounts. Are those two the main reason for the vibration at idle or is it the motor mount by the firewall that is responsible for the vibration?? Just trying to decide whether or not it will make my car idle smoother.. if its' worth it for me to swap it out with my friend. thanks

 

Are you sure it's made by ES and not Prothane? I didn't know ES made the 2 upper side mounts. I have the ES set which includes the 2 lower side and the 1 firewall. I then added a set of Prothane mounts, which is 1 upper tranny side and 1 to the right of the valve cover. I later sold these because the vibration and buzzing sound transmitted into the vehicle was insane. It was so bad that coins in the coin box jumped around. Also the buzzing sound caused ringing of my ears, and it was beginning to damage my hearing. So to answer your question, it's caused by those 2 upper bushings, although 1 is mainly responsible for the vibration and 1 for the buzzing sound. I didn't care to find which was which because these 2 bushings were just too harsh for me.

i meant the 2 lower side bushings.. one right by the crank pulley and the other right by the passenger side wheel. so those are the ones that cause the most vibrations?

 

Those 2 lower side inserts are still on my car plus the firewall one. So for these 3 ES ones, the one that causes the most vibration is the single firewall insert, also the most difficult one to get to.
