CRX, More or less space than a 95 coupe (more intrested in front seat)
I currently have a 95 coupe, i'm going to try to trade it for a CRX SI or a 91 HB SI. I'm 6'6", and i fit pretty well in my coupe. My question is, how is the space in the front seat? I dont really care about the back seat because, one, thats gone, and two, i dont use it now!
TIA, lemme know!

Hmm, I'm about 6'3 and I fit okay in the front seat. I have a friend who's 6'5 and he says he does well in a CRX however he's doesn't drive one on a daily basis. The only real way to tell if you'll be comfortable is to find one, test drive it and then decide.
I'm nowhere near your sizes..as I am about 5'11, but I find my CRX a pretty tight fit for myself. My problem is just getting past the steering wheel. I have to sort of turn sideways, put one leg in, then slide in. You could look up the specs on your car, and on a CRX as well...see how they match up (for headroom/legroom, etc), although sitting in an actual one would be better, too....
I'm 6'3" as well, and I fit great in my hatch. I don't even have to put the seat all the way back... (there's one notch left...hahaha). But yeah, just test drive both, and if you want more room, get the hatch, I've gotten 5 friends in there with just a little complaining.
that leg sliding technique... believe me.. i have that DOWN! lol, the other thing is that, i could get some custom rails, and have the seat move back much further. Anyone know where i could get that done or if there are extented rails that i can buy?
whenever a tall person (over 6 feet) got into my old 84 rex they were always impressed how much room they had, foot and head. since crx's are pretty much the same i think you'll be ok

leg sliding technique works better with smaller steering wheel
I am 6' and the only thing I dont like is the steering wheel feels far away, time to get a hub extender..... I have a si hatch(sunroof) and it is plenty roomy, just feels like I am in go cart with large windows....

im 6'1, and i have soo much room i dont even use, the seat slides all the way back to the rear bump in the floorpan,(look in a crx you'll know what im talkin about) well at least mine does (90 si), i have tons of headroom, and i dont slouch by any means. i sit more straight up or forward then slouch. i think the seats are really comfy, and i would suggest sitting in one to fully understand if you will fit but im sayin yea you will be fine. i have a friend who is 6'5 and he fits almost the same as i do so i dont see a problem with another inch.

this may work for a HB but not the crx...when the CRX seats are all the way back, they stop because they hit the "back *lack-of-a*seat"
i dunno what to call it but theres a humb where the backseat could be...where the cargo cover goes

I have been driving my crx everyday for over 3 years now. I fit ok in it as far a leg room, but I could use a little more head room. If I had to do it over again, I would have gotten one w/o a sunroof. I will end up getting something bigger soon though cause I am tired of getting in and out of it.
I'd probably fit better in a Impala/Caprice or Crown Vic.

im 6"3 its kind of a tight fit, the only thing that absolutely bugs me is the ******* handle to roll up the windows, its always in the way of my knee other than that its okay id like a armrest, and ive hit my head a few times on the roof from bumps

Ah no ****, same here. Bugs the hell out of me, so I end up having to move it a bit up just so it doesn't jam into my knee cap. Besides that, I hate constantly having my foot against the left speaker so I can barely hear whats coming out.

thanks for the info...
do your legs fit under the steering wheel.. cuz i definatly can't do that in my coupe. my legs go half way up the steering wheel on both sides.

I can't bring my legs together while in the car, but I can handle the pedals and clutch just fine. I could adjust the seat so that I have a lot of head space and some leg space, but then my legs would always be fully extended and you don't want that.
my rex has tilt steering, both my legs fit pretty comfortably under the wheel, there is plenty of room in a 2nd gen,
i use to have a 00 si and going from that to a rex there is alot of room

The rex is probably one of the roomiest in the "civic" line for driver and passenger. You have a ton more leg room then a coupe. I cant even push my seat all the way back, but in the coupe i had to. Only complaint, i assume, from a tall person would be head room, but mostly in si's, not dx or hf.
The car is small, but dont let it fool you, there is ample room for the driver and passenger, and you have tilt steering in the rex too.

i know for a fact that there is more front room in a crx than a 95 coupe. because there are no back seats in a crx the tracks already slide further back.
my friend (crx si) used to have a 95 coupe and switching from his car to mine it was very apparent that there was more room in my crx.

I sat in a 96 Impala SS on Saturday and believe it or not, my crx has just as much, if not more, leg room than the SS. The SS did have a little more head room though.
My CRX has alot more leg room than the 99 SI, I used to own, I had to keep the seat all the way back to feel comfortable and I'm only 5'11
