Default JG 301 cams???

i did a search but found nothing, are they good cams? do it need valve springs and retaniers?? any good gains?? its for a friend 95Ls with basic bolts on, is it worth it? or should he just get crower or crane instead?? any advise would really help!

I had 301's in my '92 integra LS...back in like '94. They definitly made power. The car idled a bit like a v8, but was worth it. If i'm remembering correctly, they pulled better than stock from about 4-8k rpm.

I'd get them again, even if just for the nostalgia of the good ol' days.

I just got some a few weeks ago. They are definitely better than stock. The car doesn't feel so gutless in the top end. I still haven't gotten them tuned yet, but even with the cam gears at 0 they feel good. Can't wait to get them dialed in!
