Default Getting RX-7 Wheels

Hey Guys,

I am getting a set of RX-7 wheels for the R so that I can use them for the track. I was wondering what tire would fit well and not rub. FYI the 3rd gen RX-7 are 16 inch. All help is appreciated!

225's will fit but you need to space the rear's out a touch....

Welcome to the club.

You, me and 2fcknfst are the only ones with fd wheels thus far...

At less than 13 lbs, these are nice 16x8 wheels!

Oh yeah, don't forget to run a 3mm spacer.

Old post with some info:

Oh yeah, and 215/45/r16 seem to be the size to use for stock rolling diameter and not to rub... 225's will apparently rub a little...

heh, long time "rod-knee!" How are you? Did you ever get vtec working on your hybrid? I've got b's too now... I just need a test pipe/ high flow cat and exhaust... And I need to tune!

1020, I have no idea of the offset... I think 3mm spacer brings them to 47mm offset, so that means they are.....44mm offset?

are the spacers necessary to have? I have heard that using spacers are not safe, is this true?

should be fine.

2fcknfst has been running these for a while now with no problems. And I doubt he babies his car....

Also, many others like yoshi run spacers at auto-x to run wider rubber - no problems for yoshi either... Although he did bang up a rim on the streets of LA... But that's just potholes.

if a 3mm spacer brings them to 47mm, then they are 50mm. that's cool . . . where can i find a set?!

No. If a 3mm spacer brings them to 47mm, then they are 44mm as stated earlier.

Waddya mean I don't baby my car?

Obviously you haven't seen it...

About the wheels, they are 50mm offset. A 3mm spacer will bring the offset OUT to 47mm.

Hope it helps...

Oops! I haven't seen your car in person. It looked clean in the pics, but we all know you drive the snot out of it!

About the wheels, they are 50mm offset. A 3mm spacer will bring the offset OUT to 47mm.
Oops again! Well, I guess we all finally know! They are the same offset as the millenia wheels and the usdm itr wheels. But we need to run a 3mm spacer to clear the rear suspension...

Now I wonder if I could just use a 5mm spacer without any problems... (Less hassle to get it machined, etc...)
