Default I think I just broke my axles..... Help!

Yeah, so I go to let the clutch out at about 5k and I hear this loud clunk.... I put it into gear and the speed hurries up to 30mph... But the car doesnt move..... So I think that they are broke... my question is, can the int. shaft break? Also, when I let the clutch out the wheel would mmm well its hard to explain but, it would shake, I look'd under the car and the axle would shake.(I noticed this b4 the axles broke...) Would bad joints in the axles cause this to happen?

Thanks...

When I had a defective clutch my car would shake like hell when I took off. Looking at the wheel it looked like it was almost bouncing. Maybe you're clutch went out?

You put it in gear, the speedo is moving, and the car isn't?

If the speedo moves and the car doesn't you have one of two things broken, the differential spider gears or an axle. Jack the car up, put it in gear and run it. One of the two axles will move if you have a broken axle, just trace the moving axle until you get to the joint that you don't see movement anymore and you've found your broken point. What were you doing when this happened?

I dropped the clutch at about 5k to peel out and well, clunk.... I hope I didnt take out the spider gears... The speedo still moves and I can put it into any gear, no problem... It will hardly move forwards or backwards... How can I tell which side is broken? Also I can see the axles just spinning... Would they be able to spin if the spider gears were broke? OT but does any one know where to buy adjustable upper ball joints?

Well poop. The drivers side axle is no more. My dad recomeded that I should get an upgraded axle(s) to handle the trq from the B20. Should I spend the $$ for one that can handle the power?

I actually had that happen to me. Put the car in gear, let out the cutch and pop, snapped the axel right at the hub. The guy I brought it to had never seen that happen. And that was with the stock D15's massive 74 hp.

Get 2 pair from autozone. When you snap another, replace it with one that you carry in your car. A day later bring the broken one back to autozone, and get it replace for free. Lifetime guarantees rock ***!.

Advance carries GCK remans that are pretty good, at least as good as the OE stuff. it's not crap like the rest of the remans.
