Default need help installing pistons to rod!!!

ok i've been to at least 20 parts stores and about 6 engine shops and NOBODY as this stupid tool. i have arias pistons that come with lock rings(not c-clamp types). i found the tool online its called a piston pin lock ring tool. but the site doesn't sell it. so does anyone here know were i can get one or do they have on them that i can buy/rent from? need help asap.....

You have to take it to a machine shop to get pressed out.

Using that tool without the piston cradle could damage the piston itself. By the time you have hammered out the wristpins yourself, you might as well have let a machine shop do it.

Cost me $40 bux

I think he wants to put the rods ON the pistons, not off. It really depends what rods you are using. If you are using aftermarket, they are free floating, you should be able to install those lock rings in by hand. They shouldn't be too hard to do. If you are using stock rods, you have to have the rod pressed on and I don't think you use the lock rings, only on free floating rods.

nothing in my engine is stock anymore. the piston are Arias and the rods are from Crower. and yup i'm tring to put the rods ON the pistons. but those f*#%g lock rings are REALLY hard to compress. already had to buy 2 more of them cause i bent 2 tring to install by hand. can anyone help me out?

All the lock rings I've seen, you have to insert one end in first (by twisting it slightly) and then rotate it in to get it to snap into place.

They just snap on. I know it's a bitch but when you get a hand of it, it'll not too bad. Just get a small flat head screw driver and needle nose pliers. And use some elbow greese.

thats what I do. Just play with it some more. use a flat head screwdriver and some patience.

well i put them in. don't know how you guys did it but i found a bike shop that had a lock ring tool. hope i never have to do that again.
