tachometer "stutters" and engine dies occasionally.. please help!
My tach reads the rpms correctly and functions correctly but during the time I'm driving, it sporratically jumps around. I notice that when it jumps around violently I can feel the engine stutter. If it does this when the rpms are low (below 3k) or I'm idling the engine will just die.... but then turn right back on when I turn the key.
I am getting no codes and it appears that my grounds are in good shape.
I also have an obnoxious buzzing/whining coming from underneath my dash just below or behind the gauge cluster and it's buzzing speed is in direct accordance with rpms. I wonder if this is the PGM-FI main relay. I was curious is this is why my car dies but I'm also tossing around the idea of my problem being my ignitor coil.
Backgound of car: crx, b16, stock pr3, skunk2 mani, jg TB. original gen 1 dizzy.
Thank you all very much for you time in advance.

sounds like a bad ignitor in the distributor. the whining/buzzing sounds like your speedo cable is making noise.
I thinks it's the ignitor as well. Make sure that the screws that hold down the spade connectors on your ignitor are tight. First tighten them, and see if that solves it. If not, then just replace it.

Definitely check your connections to the ignitor...... also spray them with some crc electric cleaner.......... i had the same problem with my car with the tach jump and hesitation....... i changed the cap and rotor and cleaned the ignitor connections and havent had a problem since

I'm gonna check my ignitor tomarrow (never have time off from work!) and the buzzing/whining noise isn't my speedo cable because the noise is there if I'm stopped and free rev... It's rpm related as opposed to vehicle speed related and it's driving me crazy!
