Default I'm a newb, plz help w/ a few questions

Hiya all. I'm 18 and just FINALLY purchased my first car. After reading about them for 2 years im so happy finally got 1. I decided on a CRX, a 1989 SI. it has a ZC motor about 50,000 miles on motor, or so I'm told. I have a job with pretty steady income and i definitly want to mod it. I have been reading and have pretty much decided on a turbo, and I keep seeing this t3 or t4. Is that a type of turbo then? Also what is hondata and do I just get one from any internet sight? I know the bare essentials about cars but REALLY wanna learn about em, so is putting a turbo in a good idea? Or is it even possible with this ZC engine? is that some sort of B series engine? Anyways any other information would be really helpful, thanks alot for your time

Evan

first off, congrats on the new car. crxs are defenitly fun cars to drive.

-yes, the t3 and t4 are turbos. sometimes you'll also see t3/4 hybrid turbs. basically its combining the two turbos to sum it up quickly...

-hondata is an engine managment system. its exspensive, lots of bucks. there's also zdyne, you'll hear about that as well through conversations. and also ghettodyne, more on that later...

-putting a turbo on IS a good idea, as long as you know what you're doing (or at least know basics and have a helper with you). and it IS possible to turbo the zc engine, you can turbo any engine really.

-the zc is not a b series engine, its a zc. some people say the sohc zc is basically a d series (comparible to the d16a6, which actually, isn't far).

congrats on your car. a zc is a great engine for turbo. it's a d series engine. the only dohc d series engine ever made. both the t3 and a t4 are type of turbos. hondata is an engine management program. it controls your fuel deliever and other things. there are lots of different management programs. these are usually required when boosting your motor.

go to http://www.thezcr.com for more information. they are a great site dedicated to zc's. tell them 'crx619' sent you.

Hey, u replied to my post thanks a whole bunch for that. Is the t3 or t4 turbo made by a certain company or just like a generic brand? Also i went to the zc sight and it said advance your timeing, adjust your valves to the tight end, clean out your throttle body and intake manifold, run a fuel injection system cleaner. I have really no idea how to do any of this. Is there some sort of...reading I can get or book or u have any suggestions on how to tune it at all? And if I got a turbo, i sound kinda dumb, but does it come with instructions?
