Problem with VTEC..
OK tonight i tookout my sub box so I could test to see how much 'peppier' my car would feel(that **** is staying out) .. well i ran into a civic and when we were racing I swear I felt my engine lose power right before it hit vtec... like your normal engine would sound like this wahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh-AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH .. the second part being when vtec kicks in.. well my car was sounding like this wahhhhhhhhhhhhh-ah-AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH...
any ideas what could be wrong?
bad tuning or what?
I have i/h/e, cam gears, v-afc, denzo plugs..

well what I'm saying is it doesn't sound like it should.. it seems like there is a slight loss in power for a second...it doesn't seem normal.. that's all i'm saying.. is it a fuel problem? is my v-afc messing something up? is it a problem with oil? i'm clueless i don't need to be informed of what the REAL sound is from.. i feel a loss in power where my engine almost sounds like it cuts off for 1/2 a second..
i'll have to check the v-afc i remember they lowered it when i got it dynoed.. guess they don't know what they are doing.. i'll get back to you on that..
no no no, there's nothing wrong with your v-afc. I've noticed the same thing happening with my car sometimes. It feels like a dip in the powerband right before you hit VTEC (at least in my car, since I've got the b17a). The only explanation I can come up with is that it usually happens when its extremely humid outside, so I attribute the power loss to the weather.

yes I am at 38000 miles and I got my 30k maintenence.. around 33k.. and about the vtec engaging too early.. i didn't remember the exact numbers but it was like 4500-4800?
seems kinda low.. but that's what they set it at when I got my car dyno-tuned

Look @ your dyno graph and see if there are any dips on the curve. If you still have the stock GSR cams you should leave your vtec x-over point stock. That would be 4400 rpm. Go to your V-AFC and set L->H 4400 & H->L 4000, that's about stock I think. You should only use a different vtec point if you upgrade cams. Good luck.
