B20A5 to B20Z Swap is it possible
Hello
I have an older Prelude I am wanting to restore, the stock B20A5 engine runs fine, but I am wondering about a swap as mods for the B20A5 seem limited.
Is this a do able swap? Can certain parts be inter changed? I would like to set the B20A5 up with header/exhuast and cold air, while I redo the rest of the car and then do the swap last
Thanks
Randy

that search wont help.
you have a 3rd gen prelude, and the newer Bmotors dont sit like our motors sit, and they dont bolt in. you would have to make custom mounts, and weld new mount points in the engine bay. theres a lot of custom work involved and the power and torque arent worth the money you are going to spend.
ive only seen one person swap in one of those motors, but ive seen many many people swap in the H22, one guy from team interlude has a 3rd gen with a h22turbo and is pushing 415 whp.
they make a mount kit and axles for this swap, and there is tons of information on PreludePower.com if you search for it.
although they are both B20's, they differ in many many ways.

Thanks Guys
I just started to research all of this, I had read the H22 swap page and found it interesting, but more involved. It seems like the H22 is the motor to have, yet I was hoping the B20Z may be less complicated, more of a bolt in.
I am not looking for way out HP, I would like to get a few extra from the stock engine though. This car will be a daily driven.
Thanks

Blah!!!
I've gone through this too many times to count. Theres too many misconceptions about dropping in any b series. Do a search here and go to hondaswap.com.

Mmm, I don't think PlaceRacing makes b motor mounts for the 88-91... plus it'd be impracticle to do such a swap.
Go with a JDM b20a and boost it, or go with a H22a and enjoy a 15 second car.
