Ok, my problem first started earlier this week when I went to my car to go to work and it would not start. It made a noise as if the starter motor was spinning, but nothing happened. I was easily able to roll the car back and start it by dumping the clutch.
I assumed this was the starter going bad, and it would easily be fixed by just replacing the starter. I found a starter for sale locally and I planned on going to get it today.

Before I had a chance to go and get it, I also noticed a slight rattle when I revved the car when the clutch was pushed in. Almost sounded like a chain rattle. Oh well, I just kind of ignored this.

I went to pick up the starter, and I put it on (after a few mishaps - none related to the starter) and to my wonder, nothing happened. Still the same spinning noise as if the motor is spinning on the starter and the click from it engaging. BUT MY CAR DOESN'S START!!!!

I've come to the conclusion that my flywheel is possibly fucked because of these 2 things happening to my car at the same time, I assume they are related, and they almost make sense. I just don't quite understand how the flywheel can get fucked up. PLEASE HELP!!!

Sounds to me that the flywheel has a few missing teeth or the outer ring on the flywheel is falling off. Take out the starter and with a flashlight, look and see if the flywheel is ok.

 

Busted teeth on the flywheel would make a high spinning sound that's way different than the normal starter sound. But you can still take a look...

Check your ignition switch. You say you can start it by kicking the clutch. Here's what I'm thinking...
When you turn the ignition switch to II it closes a circuit for the ignition, fuel pump, and all that stuff. Then when you turn to 'start' it's supposed to keep that circuit closed, while it also closes the circuit for the starter motor. Honda's are known for ignition switch troubles, so maybe it's opening the ignition/fuel circuit when you turn it to 'start'.

Do you have a big heavy keychain???
Ok, even without a big keychain, the switch should be easy to check. Got a voltmeter?
