Default Fog Switch

What's up boys.... getting ready to slap the fogs in, but the guy i bought them from can't find a factory prelude switch for them, i was wondering if i could use a factory CIVIC switch for the JDM fogs? I'd also like to know if the switch will fit

the switch is for 1996-2000 civics if that helps narrow things down.

To my k nowledge the 96-00 civic fog switch is too long if you're trying to fit it into one of the pop-out center console pieces on a 4th gen lude. I looked at where it goes on my friends 97 and the hole is larger.

I installed an 01-02 civic fog light switch direcly into my 4th gen center console 2 days ago and it fits perfect, clips right into place. The wiring is the only thing you have to worry about, it obviously doesnt clip right into a harness. But its not that bad. I can help you if you need it on the wiring.

Hey Munscher, do you know the honda part # for that switch? Also, what connections are on the back of the switch? I figure I can just wire it to constant 12v, ground, and then to a relay for my fogs? If you can post how you wired everything up that would be great!!

08V31-S5D-110B

thats whats on the bag, i got mine off of ebay for about $10 shipped

it has 5 pins on the back... power/ground for the backlighting (when headlights are on) and then the switch itself and the indicator light share a ground

I replaced my 93 dash harness with a 94 when i did the EL cluster swap... so i couldn't just wire it into the stock wires.... i actually had to run various wires, but if you want to know exactly what i did i should be able to write up a diagram

do you have the harness to plug the factory prelude fog switch in? if you do then just simply wiring to fit the civic switch should be simple.

if you cant find the wiring under the center console (i couldnt find any of the wiring that was supposedly behind the tweeter cover), you can use this diagram i drew up:

add .orig.jpg for the clearer image.
PM me for any questions..i know the numbers might be a might confusing.
