Here is what I have: 95 civic ex coupe
Swap:
JDM 96 b16a2 with p30 ECU

I am having problmes with missing spots for plugs to go. One plug is the VTEC pressure ( blu/blk & blk) and the other plug is the Intake Air Temp sensor ( red/yel & grn/wht)
The plug for the VTEC should just plug into the VTEC controller but there is not a plug inlet. The old motor has one should I use that? For the IAT sensor what should I do for that? It has nowhere to go? Also is it possible to use the plugs off my cut harness that came with the motor? and use them for the injectors, because the plugs on them are different too. I was going to just rewire them. Check the pics if they work.

JDM motors don't use the Vtec pressure switch so if you are using the JDM ecu, forget about it.

IAT needs to be extended to the intake tube.

 

how do you tell if the ECU is JDM. it is p30

 

jdm ecu is smaller in size than usdm... and if you using usdm haraness then you will have an extra plug not used...b/c jdm engines dont have EVAP solenoid.

 

Ok will I still be ok with the VTEC pressure plug if I get the ECU reprogrammed by Katman? I want to have it reprogrammed mostly to disalble the knock sensor.

this man is 100% correct just make sure its a jdm ecu, and if its reprogamed they can do what they want with it just tell ur programer what u want, theres a few good ones here on h/t

Semi-wrong. OBD2 jdm ecu's don't use a vtec pressure switch.

Otherwise, like they said dont worry about it because you dont have one on the motor.

you look at the numbers following the p30-xxx
where xxx will be a letter and 2 numbers
if the letter is a j = japan
a = america
and there are some others, but those are the only ones i conserned myself with

just make sure it is OBD2 because the OBD1 p30 does use a pressure switch

 

So what your telling me is that if I'm running a OBD 1 p30 ecu, which I am I have to have the VTEC pressure. How should I do this? Should I use the old one or wire something up? PLease let me know excactly what to do.

You'll have to get a new vtec solenoid with a pressure switch.

You can go to a junkyard and "borrow" one.

if you do some searching you will find that you can trick the ecu into thinking you have a pressure switch by tying it to the vtec solonoid

It has been a while since i looked into this, but i know you can do it and not have to buy the pressure switch

 

Ok, I have a quicky concerning this vtec pressure switch.
If my ecu is looking for it and I don't have one, can I just have my hondata reprogrammed to not look for the VTP? And will vtec work as normal?
