Default I am sticking with my D16a6 SOHC No VTEC, Mods gettiing done, What else while it's apart?

Ok guys,

This winter I am (Depending on money situation) getting my motor pulled and having the block bored 40 over and getting new pistons and rings. The head is also going to be ported and polished. The motor will be going through a total rebuild for reliability. I am at about $1800.00-$2000.00. The motor will eventually be supercharged. What else is a must to install in the motor while it is apart for strength and reliability. After market rods?, Different valves and springs? How much should I expect to spend on the parts and what company should I go with? Please let me know what you guys think I should get. Remember my decision has been made, I do not want a swap. Thanks

Hmm well I know it can be done on the B-Seriese, now sure about the D series. ".040 over will put you at 76mm. Well if you are building for S/C middle of the road compression is good. Around 9.5-10:1 or so. Foreged internals, sleeved if you have the money. With that set-up you should not only have no problem supercharging it, but sparying as well. I'd upgrade the vavletrain and a little headwork to. You'll have much better luck in forced induction if you are building for S/C'd.

Check out exospeed.com(not sure on spelling). They are on this sight and do alot of work with d-series. I have never done business with them but they have a good rep and claim good # for d-series motors. good luck!

it all depends on what you want to do with your motor. for S/C how much boost are you planning to take it up to? what will its usage be? will it get some track time or is it just street car.
There are different stages you can build up the block and the head. check out our D series block section and the head section of our website.

We like to know what you will use it for since there are different setups we like to recommend for the drag racers, street cars, and road racing motors.
