I was driving my brother's type R a day ago, freeway cruising at about 4500 rpm. When i pulled off the freeway, maybe a block later, a quick puff of black smoke came out in front of the car, accompanied by a burning smell. I immediately stopped the car, and checked out what i could (took a glance around, checked all the fluids). Everything seemed fine. No check engine light, and the temp guage didnt move. I had to drive back from where I was from, and the problem didn't reproduce itself. I tried pulling hard once just to see if the car still had power and it did. But still.... a gust of smoke just like that? I'm a bit worried here....

Black smoke accompanied with a burning smell from the FRONT? Wierd man. Does the car have any mods? Maybe his exhaust manifold has a major leak.

 

just has an axle-back. nothing is leaking, either, as far as i can tell. i guess ill just keep a close eye on things while i drive it? Still scares me
