I've recently come to reallize that my 89' hatchback doesn't have as much room in front of the radiator as I thought...

My stage1 turbo ( TD04-13G WRX turbo ) would still fit using the stock fan, but it would be easier to fab stuff if it wasn't there.

BUT.... My stage2 turbo ( Garrett T3 .60/.63, 60-trim ) isn't going to fit with the stock fans and internal wastegate ( I could rotate the housings, but the wastegate wouldn't line up any more; save the external wastegate suggestions ), SO... I was checking out some aftermarket radiators, and found out that some people have been "front mounting" there fans on the radiator to save space and reversing the poles on the fans wiring to make it run backwards = pushing the air... And its sounds like it would work to me, BUT... I like to double check with the H-T peeps...

So, anyone have this kinda set-up ? Does it work well ? would you reccomend it to a friend ?

Yes it works fine, but make sure that you get a pusher style fan and not a universal one and just reverse the polarity. You have to get a fan the is designed to push due to the fact that some fans have curved blades and wont push enough volume through the radiator if the polarity is reversed. Really makes allot more room.
