semi-urgent: h22 questions
as a few of you know, i just purchased a jdm h22...i thought it was an obd2 motor from '96, but it appears that i was misinformed about the motor when i bought it....anyways, i have an obd2 '96 accord and have a few questions concerning the swap:
1) Will the obd1 engine harness connect to the obd2 wiring harness that goes through my firewall?
2) If the engine harness doesn't connect to the obd2 wiring harness, are there any conversion harnesses or adaptors that can be used for the engine harness to wiring harness...
3) If there aren't any conversion harnesses or adaptors, does this mean that i have to rewire the car with an obd1 wiring harness?
4) I already realize that I will (at the very least) need the conversion harness for the ecu...are there any brands that are better than others???
5) Which ecu should i be getting? i realize i need an obd1 ecu since the motor is obd1, but should i go with a p13, p28, p72?...i already have an auto p13 (my car is manual)...will this ecu work without throwing codes?
6) Am i going to be throwing any codes after swapping all these harnesses and using all these adaptors?...
my swap is supposed to begin next weekend, and i urgently need to get last minute parts together...many parts rely on answers to these questions, so again, any help is appreciated...thnx

for your swap to be successful you will have to buy (skunk2) or make an obd2 to obd1 converter...as far as the engines wiring harness....just use your stock (the 1 on the original motor that came with the car) harness and add the additioonal wires ( if im not mistaken that would be like 4 wires) DO NOT use the wiring harness that came with the motor..that will only cause serious problems
hope this helps
hope this helps
thanks for the replies guys...i'm gonna go ahead and try to use the f22 engine harness and hardwire all the rest directly to the ecu...the distributor is my only concern right now, but i'm sure i'll figure it out...thanks again...
