Default Completed B16a swap..now i have problems..are these common ones?

Hey guys, Ive just completed a b16a swap into my 88 crx. But now I have some problems. Something is draining my battery.. I have no idea what it could be. The car will never start first go. Im running 4 Bosch coils with an aftermarket ecu..could this have ANYTHING to do with the problem?

Also as i was driving all of a sudden my tacho went crazy then dropped to zero and stayed there.. My indicators also stopped working suddenly as soon as the tacho went crazy, any ideas here??

And another problem i noticed is when i give the car a bit of a boot and i change from 1st to 2nd or 2nd to 3rd the car doesnt respond for a fraction then jerks and takes off..Just not smooth or anything..? could it be the fuel pressure is for some reason dropping then rising again? would a fuel pressure reg help me here?

thanks for ya help guys

G

Does it start up after the first try or do you have to jump it ?

Check your fuses and all your grounds. Also the speedo cable, and if you tach is still acting crazy, try replacing the ignitor.

Do you have any codes by the way ? About the stuttering, how are you o2 sensors ? Are they both hooked up the right way ?

I had a car along long time ago...that the car would take off.....seem to slow....jump and go....slow....jump and go...all with me not letting off the gas. Come to find out...had some bad grounds wires. Replaced them and all is well.

bad grounds would explain the startin problems as well...
check ur wires to the starter as well, my signal/solenoid wire went bad after my swop and wouldn't crank sometimes, i still need to fix that actually...

definately looking into the ground wire side of things..

a workshop told me that when they do VTEC swaps with aftermarket ecus that they have a problem of fuel pressure dropping initially then rising again and that id prolly need a fuel pressure reg. Just wondering if anyone else has had this problem or if they think what theyre telling me is correct.. Just dont wanna go forkout a good 250 bucks if it doesnt fix the problem.

Thanks again

No...dont listen to them. If you have the B16a fpr then you are fine. and 250 for a FPR is a joke.
